... will come later.

Finally home. Iz ded.

I booked my flights. I decided that once I got my (small, but enough) tax refund, I'd book my flight and pay off my credit card with the refund. It was a tiny bit more than when I'd originally looked, and it wasn't non-stop, but it's done.

I did have a little drama about it all. I decided to fly out of Buffalo since it's so much cheaper, and we looked around and found a shuttle from Burlington to the Buffalo airport, so I don't even have to drive or park. So after I booked my flight, I went to book the shuttle. There are 4 scheduled trips per day between the two locations, and the last trip home was 3 hours before my flight landed.

D'oh.

So I panicked briefly, then decided I could drive if I had to but first I'd try and shift flights. Turns out that within the first 24 hours you can cancel for only $7 - totally worth it. It means I'm leaving Minneapolis much earlier on Monday, but to save myself the drive, I'm more than willing to get up at ungodly o'clock.

I can't wait to see all y'all!

I did it - bought my pass for WriterCon '09 in Minneapolis Minnesota. Definitely someplace I've never been before, and, if I drive, with the potential of an entirely new landscape to view en route.

So now I just have to sort out all the rest of the details. But to start with... who else is going?!? :D

I found the announcement on [livejournal.com profile] spiralleds LJ. I'm very excited.

I just got home from Atlanta (okay, so I've been home for 10 hours watching TV), and I'm updating before I read anyone else's WriterCon recap.

The con was a blast. The panels were good, I learned a lot and came home inspired and ready to write, but the best was meeting so many new people. I started a list of people I need to friend, but I haven't gotten that far yet.

Some of the highlights
- talking to agilebrit the first day. She was practically the first person I didn't know at all that I had a conversation with at the con. And huge thanks to her for my no more hiding pin.
- meeting sunnyd_lite. She was one of the people I really wanted to meet, and she was the nicest, perkiest person ever.
- the emotion workshop. It was just amazing. anaross pointed out things I'd noticed, things that had made me cry and explained why it worked so we can (attempt) to recreate it in our own writing.
- the religion panel. It was the last thing I took in, and it was the perfect topper on a great weekend.
- my roomates! Meeting all of you was definitely the best part of the weekend. Never a dull moment with you folks. I hope you all got back to your families and friends safe and sound. Love y'all! (And I still don't have an accent - my mother said so.)

There were so many other great things that I just can't even think of them all. I'm sorry if I forgot to mention you by name (you were all awesome!), but my brain is still percolating with all the things that happened.
